PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES
COMMUNITY BASED
Our traditional and most flexible mentoring program, we pair adult mentors with youth ages 6 to 17 under the commitment to see each 4-6 hours a month. We hand-select every Match based on shared interests, geography, and personality.
MEETS 4-6 HOURS A MONTH
The outings create opportunities for meaningful conversations about school, friends, and dreaming big.
HANG OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
Matches plan their own time together doing what they enjoy when it works best for them.
LONG-LASTING FRIENDSHIP
By just having a Big by their side, Littles are set on the right path to grow into mature teens and thriving young adults.
SPORTS BUDDIES
Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Sports Buddies is a new opportunity for Community Based matches that are interested in participating and watching sports activities. This fun sports-oriented program exposes Littles to a variety of sports activities while promoting healthy habits.
BIGS WITH BADGES
Bigs with Badges is a one-to-one mentoring program that connects youth with law enforcement officers and first responders to build lasting relationships. The result impacts the lives of our youth by fostering strong bonds founded on trust and understanding. It also helps children see officers in a positive light and fosters trust between young people and law enforcement officers, officers are not going into a neighborhood to make an arrest, they’re going to form a bond and to build a friendship. Email kids@bbbsga.org to see if your department is already a partner
SITE BASED
Our Site-Based mentoring program allow Volunteers and Littles to meet once a week during the academic year at the Littles' school to hang out typically during lunchtime. The majority of our site-based programs take place in elementary schools. Once a child transitions to middle or high school, most matches naturally transition to the community-based program to not conflict with vital class time.
SCHOOL BUDDIES
Volunteers and children meet once a week during the child’s 45 minute lunch break, utilizing resources available within the school.
REACH MENTORS
REACH mentors are active duty military and civilian employees from Robins Air Force Base who mentor at area schools. Thanks to a partnership with base leadership since 1998, employees may mentor during work hours without taking time off as long as they have supervisor permission. To learn more or to connect with the Robins AFB liaison, please contact Mickell.gooden@bbbsga.org.
COMMUNITY BASED
We offer one-time volunteer opportunities! We have many options because we know that not every opportunity is right for everyone. We appreciate any kind of support that we can get. Email kids@bbbsga.org to learn more.
