What is a duck pluck?

Since 2016, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been making a splash—racing ducks across the water to raise money for our award-winning mentoring programs serving children and families throughout Central Georgia.

But this year, our ducks are changing things up!

They're trading the racecourse for a chill pool scene on October 30. The ducks will gather, float, and wait to see which lucky ducks get plucked! 

How many ducks are available for adoption?

We have a limited field of 5,000 ducks, so don't wait too long to get yours!

Is there a deadline to adopt ducks?

Ducks adopted online by midnight the day before the race will be entered.

Do I need to be present to win?

No! You are welcome to watch the races on Facebook Live. Winners will be contacted by email and phone.

Are these real ducks? Do I get to bring a duck home?

Sadly, no.

They're plastic.

But don't tell them that. These ducks have spent all year training for their big moment and have developed some pretty big personalities.

They're highly trained, extremely buoyant and absolutely convinced they're famous.

Official Duck Pluck Rules & Eligibility

• Must be 18 or older to participate. Duck adoptions may only be purchased by individuals who are at least 18 years of age.

• No BBBS employees or immediate family members may participate. Employees, officers, directors, and immediate family members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Heart of Georgia are not eligible to purchase ducks or win prizes.

• Ducks are not transferable. Each adopted duck is associated with the purchaser designated at the time of purchase. 

• You do not have to be present to win. Winners will be contacted using the phone number and email address provided at the time of purchase.

• Winner response: BBBS will make reasonable efforts to contact winners. A winner must respond and claim their prize within 30 days of the drawing or the prize will be forfeited, and BBBS may select an alternate winner in accordance with the official drawing procedures.

• Winner verification: Winners may be required to provide valid government-issued identification and complete a Form W-9 or other required tax documentation before receiving a prize.

• Taxes: All applicable federal, state, and local taxes associated with a prize are the responsibility of the winner. BBBS will comply with applicable tax reporting and withholding requirements.

• Prize amounts: First Place — $1,000; Second Place — $100; Third Place — $50.

• Prize eligibility: A winning duck must be associated with a valid, eligible adoption. BBBS reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any winning entry.

• No refunds: Duck adoptions are final and non-refundable.

• Official records: BBBS will maintain the official records of duck adoptions and winning entries. In the event of a discrepancy, BBBS's official records will control, subject to applicable law.

• Georgia law: The Duck Pluck will be conducted in accordance with applicable Georgia law and the requirements of the charitable raffle license issued to BBBS.
